US Congressman Ron DeSantis (FL-R) is a strong supporter of the military and has been on the forefront trying to fix the VA for all veterans.
DeSantis was a former military prosecutor while on active duty for the Navy and has seen war first hand. As a veteran himself he knows very well the VA healthcare system is broken.
Hillary Clinton recently said the VA scandal has “not been as widespread as it has been made out to be” and she accused the Republicans of making it seem worse then it is for their own political gain which even military documents show is a lie.
When I reached out to DeSantis to get his response to Clinton’s statements this is what he had to say:
Hillary Clinton’s dismissal of the tragic treatment of our veterans by the VA bureaucracy shows she is unfit to serve as commander-in-chief. The VA scandal has been a national disgrace and her comments demonstrate that a Hillary Clinton administration would not liberate our veterans from a flawed system. As a veteran, all I can say is that Hillary’s indifference will be duly noted come Election Day.
As we reported earlier in the day, various veteran groups are also calling Hillary “out of touch” and quite frankly she owes all veterans an apology.
