It’s not everyday that happens. The Supreme Court has suspended Brevard County Judge John C. Murphy without pay until the end of his judicial discipline case.
He was captured on video berating and threatening to assault a public defender as reported by the Associated Press.Murphy has to also explain why he should not be removed from office and he was given 20 days to do so.
He is accused of hitting former assistant public defender Andrew Weinstock outside a courtroom last year after they argued over whether Weinstock’s client should have a speedy trial.

In May, the Florida Judicial Qualifications Commissions put Murphy on a four-month suspension, he was reprimanded, he has to seek mental health therapy and pay up to $50,000.
I think we all can agree sometimes judges let their position go to their head and this is a classic example of that. That is one judge that should never were a robe again.
