No one is saying this.
Combat veteran and Republican congressional candidate Brian Mast recently stated that the “boots on the ground” in Syria that he would like to see fighting the radical Islamist terror group ISIS, are the actual refugees fleeing that country.Mast made his remark during the Republican first forum debate between the candidates looking to replace outgoing Rep. Patrick Murphy (D) in Florida’s 18th congressional district.
This is the seat that former Congressman Allen West narrowly lost in 2012.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Mast, a former member of the U.S. Military’s Special Operations Command who lost both of his legs in an IED blast while on a mission in Afghanistan, believes that the Syrian refugees need to take up arms and defend their country instead of running, saying that “the boots on the ground” that he “would like to see put in place to combat ISIS are these boots” are those of the  “refugees that are seeking shelter in other countries.”
The other GOP congressional candidates in the race, Rick Kozell and Rebecca Negron, do not support U.S. ground troops in Syria, while Marc Freeman, Carl Domino, and Paul Spain, do believe that U.S. troops need to be inserted onto the battlefield. Those refugees (Syrian) should be taking up arms, being trained by their government in combating ISIS…If ISIS was cutting a swath across the United States of America, then everyone of us would be out there with our wives, with our children, defending our country until our last breathe, or the last breathe of every ISIS member.-Brian Mast
