The first 2016 Republican presidential candidate to drop out of the race is unfortunately former Texas Governor Rick Perry.
I have always said that Perry could get past his “Oops!” moment from the 2012 GOP presidential primary, but it looks as if he couldn’t.Because of his jobs creation record and hard-lined stance on immigration in Texas, I believe Perry and his cowboy swagger would have done great things for America.
So, now there are 16 GOP presidential hopefuls left.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
.@GovernorPerry is a terrific guy and I wish him well- I know he will have a great future!

Here is Perry’s letter announcing his exiting of the race:
Dear Friend, As you may have heard, earlier today I suspended my campaign for president of the United States.
The conservative movement has always been about principles, not personalities.
Our nominee should embody those principles. He – or she – must make the case for the cause of conservatism more than the cause of their own celebrity. I still believe in the power of that message – a message that offers hope, redemption and solace in the midst of storms.
We have a tremendous field – the best in a generation – so I step aside knowing our party is in good hands, and as long as we listen to the grassroots, the cause of conservatism will be too.
Anita and I are humbled by your dedicated support of our efforts.
God bless you, and God bless America.
Best,
Rick Perry
