With Mowery’s exit of the race, politicos who wish to stay nameless are now saying combat veteran Brian Mast could be the one candidate to watch out for in this race.
That sentiment seems to be catching on, as no less than two current top tier 2016 Republican presidential candidates, who we will not mention at this point, have stated that “we need to help him (Mast) win” the race, one of them even saying out that he believes Mast “is a perfect candidate for that district.”Other candidates like Rick Kozell and Paul Spain will benefit from Mowery’s announcement, as could Martin Country School Board Member Rebecca Negron, who has solely benefitted from her husband’s influence in Tallahassee.
Negron’s husband is potential the next Senate President, Joe Negron.
Former Rep. Carl Domino is probably the most recognized candidate in the race, but that is only because he won the nomination in 2014, only to get crushed by Rep. Patrick Murphy (D) by 20-points.
So in case anyone is keeping tabs on this race, with Mowery dropping out, nine candidates are left to fight for the GOP nomination for that congressional seat.
