Most of the candidates in Florida’s 18th congressional district Republican primary race were in attendance at the annual Palm Beach GOP Lobsterfest shindig in Boca Raton, Florida.
The candidates were allowed one minute to address the sold out room of Republican faithfuls, some taking a lot more time to speak than was allotted to them. They are learning, politicians always purposely go over their time.Former Secret Service agent and rumored congressional candidate in this same district, Dan Bongino, was also in attendance and was seen schmoozing with all of the candidates, as well as some of the U.S. Senate candidates, who were also in attendance.
Bongino is unlikely to run in this congressional race, and says that he cannot endorse, nor openly help any of the candidates in the race because of his current position over at Conservativereview.com
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bongino did however tweet this picture The Palm Beach Post’s George Bennett took of him and Brian Mast.

Ok, so what did the candidates say?
Brian Mast spoke first, but not before being assisted up the stage stairs. Remember, Mast walks around with two prosthetics after losing his legs in an IED attack in Afghanistan.
Mast talked about what he learned in the military, and spoke about how “exceptional” America was.
Paul Spain followed Mast, and went way over the time given to speak. Way over. Â Spain is running on a pro-business, show-me-something platform, and equated this platform to that of Donald Trump and Carly Fiorina, both 2016 GOP presidential candidates.“There is no greater country out there with any greater capacity or ingenuity, or creativity”
“There is only one United States. There is only one Constitution. If we allow politicians in Washington, D.C. to turn this into a dictatorship, freedom is lost for the entire world.”
Tod Mowery (pictured), the two-term St. Lucie County Commissioner was very brief with this remarks. Mowery said that he was “excited” about the race, joking that Rep. Patrick Murphy(D) was running for the U.S. Senate because “he didn’t like what he saw in us.”
Us being the growing field of GOP Congressional candidates.
Dr. Mark Friedman just announced he is running, and stuck to taking jabs at the “elitist know-it-all Democrats” who he says are on the fringe, while Republicans “are in the center.”
That’s all I got for Friedman.Martin Country School board member and wife of state Senator Joe Negron, Rebecca Negron, spoke directly from a prepared speech.
Not much to say here. Negron hit all of the GOP talking points, adding that she was not looking to run for Congress to be “part of the club,” rather she was running to “take a club to policies that fail us.”
Palm Beach farmer Rick Roth, of Roth Farms, also read his prepared speech, only he used his iphone to help him. Bonner says he is referred to many as a “patriot” for his 30 years of grassroots lobbying.
Roth’s speech was marred before he even finished. Roth stopped his speech to quiet (yell at) someone who was talking just a bit too loud. J.B. Bensmihen, a Republican candidate in Florida CD 22, who has Cerebral Palsy, was thanking a woman who offered up her seat to him.
Apparently Bensmihen’s gratitude towards the Good Samaritan woman was too loud for Roth. Bensmihen apologized, and Roth responded with “it’s ok.”Republican Attorney Rick Kozell rounded up the group, saying that his experience as a small business owner, and knowledge of the issues, made him the best candidate in the crowded race. Kozell stated that Americans need not focus on all that is wrong with today’s society, and to use American ideas to move the country forward.
The Jupiter, Florida resident also made it a point to suck up to the host Palm Beach GOP, thanking the Chairman Mike Barnett twice, as well as  thanking the committee.
Carl Domino, who in 2014 ran and lost by 20-points to Patrick Murphy, skipped the event, but did donate a round of golf for three with him.
The golf outing with Domino started at $1875, but failed to muster up any support. Former Congressman Mark Foley dropped the price to $600, but still no takers. He then said that he would buy the prize for $750, and looked for any counter bids.
Foley is stuck going golfing with Carl Domino.Other candidates who did not attend were Carla Spalding and Noelle Nikpour.
