Our managing editor, and author of the book “Brown People,” Javier Manjarres was on NewsMaxTV’s NewsMaxNow this week along with columnist for The Fiscal Times, Liz Peek, to talk about “The Donald,” among other things.
They discussed Donald Trump’s support of Sarah Palin, the upcoming GOP debate and the disturbing Planned Parenthood videos which have recently surfaced. When asked if Donald Trump would ever consider giving Sarah Palin a cabinet post if he won Trump said “I would love that, she is a special person.”
The commenters were asked if Donald Trump should be supported by Sarah Palin.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Manjarres said:
He went on to say if she got behind Trump it would “suit him well” and it would only help him more.Absolutely, like Mr. Trump said, she has a huge following and big base support.
Peek did not agree. She said Palin’s supporters are already supporting Trump and he needs to focus on getting support from other groups. Peek also felt Palin is currently a non issue because she has lost her momentum, and that he need to broaden his appeal.
Interestingly, Donald Trump has opted not to hire a debate coach and he is set on just being himself. It was said because of that decision he will not be prepared and the other candidates will take advantage of that.
Peek and Manjarres agreed Trump may not need a debate coach because he is ahead in the polls because he is being himself. If he hires a coach people will see through it and in the long run it will hurt him in the polls.
One thing is for sure, Trump is going to come out swinging. Part of his style is attacking the other candidates and he is expected to do that during the debate as well.
Next they shifted gears and discussed the recent videos that have been released exposing Planned Parenthood. They were asked if the Republican strategy of having women Senator’s leading the charge will be effective.Peek did not think having two women leading the charge was going to make a difference. She felt the videos speak for themselves.
Manjarres said:
These videos have changed the dynamics of this issue and the election.
He also felt they transcend across party lines and everyone is appalled after watching them not just Republicans.
