Didn’t I tell you that an Alan Grayson Senate campaign would turn out to be a media bonanza for journalists in Florida?
Aside from his recent divorce case, and the fact that Grayson always finds a way to inject himself into the media by saying something outlandishly offensive, the “Congressman with Guts” may be getting a slap on the wrist from the Federal Elections Commission for failing to file his FEC candidate form.Grayson has already stated that he will be sending in the correct form.
It’s the second blunder from the fledgling campaign. On July 9, Grayson was seen in a video interview with Huffington Post Live from his U.S. House office, which may have violated rules because he was clearly engaged in campaign activity.
And then there is this.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
According to the TB Times, Grayson’s House communications director told the Washington Free Beacon the following:
“The interview was done on a campaign computer, and there was no attempt to misuse government funds or resources.” But he added: “The congressman will not do any more interviews in his government office regarding his campaign for the U.S. Senate.”
Wait. How can this make sense? Legislative offices are used for official business only, right? Why would a personal computer that is used for campaign purposes, be available for use inside his congressional office?
Considering that it just isn’t practical for members of Congress to have to leave their office everytime they have to send a simple campaign email to someone, I can see if the FEC gives elected officials a little latitude here, and allows them to use a non-official computer in their respective congressional offices.
Like I said before, go grab your bag of Orville Redenbacher’s finest from the microwave, and sit back and enjoy Florida’s 2016 Democratic Senate primary race.
