Another shooting occurred Thursday night, this time it was at a Louisiana movie theater.
Just as the previews ended and the lights started to dim for the screening of Trainwreck a man stood up inside the Lafayette movie theater and opened fire per CNN.The shooter was identified as a 58-year-old old white man. He killed two people and wounded seven others before the coward took his own life.
Some think it is a copycat crime because the verdict in the Aurora theater massacre was determined only a few days ago.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Col. Michael Edmonson of the Louisiana State Police said:
Authorities are withholding the gunman’s name as the investigation continues. There’s nothing to believe that there was any kind of motive.
Edmonson said:
We want to talk to the [victim’] families first and let them know what happened. We owe them that respect.
Patrons said they initially thought the gun shots were part of the movie until the theater alarm went off and over the intercom they were instructed to get out and go to the vehicles immediately.
Approximately 100 people were in the theater at the time.
By the time the officers were able to enter the theater the coward killed himself.Bomb squads swept the area and the parking lot and the police temporarily closed a nearby theater and sent officers to other movie theaters as a precaution.
Louisiana Governor, Bobby Jindal said:
Police said the shooter does have a criminal history that dates back several years but they did not elaborate further.Whenever we hear about these senseless acts of violence, it makes us both furious and sad at the same time.
This is an awful night for Lafayette, this is an awful night for Louisiana, this is an awful night for the United States. But we will get through this.
