On Tuesday, House Speaker John Boehner (OH-R) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (KY-R) announced flags at the Capitol would be lowered to half-staff in honor of the military victims in Chattanooga, TN last week.
Boehner said:Out of respect for their courageous service and sacrifice to our nation, flags at the U.S. Capitol are being lowered to half-staff.
As reported by CNN, the White House notably did not lower their flags and they remained at full-staff. Aides to the president refused to comment on why their flags were not lowered.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said:
Eventually, at noon the president conceded and ordered the flags to be flown at half-staff. Then he released a pathetic statement which we all know he did because he was forced too and really did not want to or he would have showed the slain Marines more respect since their passing last week.I don’t have more information about the status of the flag over the White House.
GOP presidential hopeful’s also weighed in on Obama’s disrespect.
