U.S. Senate candidate Rep. Ron DeSantis has hired the much-sought after pollster Tony Fabrizio, who is considered one of the top political poobahs in Florida, and is also polling for Republican presidential candidate Rand Paul.
When he isn’t at the gym in Fort Lauderdale asking me to spot him on the bench press machine, or racing around town in one of his exotic sports cars, Fabrizio is winning an election for someone.According to the POLITICO, Fabrizio will also take on the roll as DeSantis’ Senior Advisor, giving him the opportunity to mold DeSantis’ image as a “fresh face,” who “represents a new generation of conservative leadership, a reform conservative.”
So what does DeSantis think about Fabrizio?

He will be a key player in our efforts.”
As the POLITICO points out, back in mid 2013, Fabrizio butted heads with then-Chief of Staff to Governor Rick Scott, Adam Hollingsworth, because now-Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera was not considered as a replacement for former Lt. Governor Jennifer Carroll.
“I wish Carlos the best — but not too much of the best,” Fabrizio chuckled. “In the end, I just don’t see how Carlos emerges. Yes, I understand he’s from Miami-Dade County [the state’s most populous], but to win a statewide election in Florida, you need to raise a lot of money. And the only person who raised all the money in the last election was Rick Scott.”
Could there be bad blood between Fabrizio and Lopez-Cantera?
Some will argue that because Fabrizio was mostly kept out of the loop during Scott’s 2014 re-election campaign, and because Lopez-Cantera also distanced himself from the pollster, that Fabrizio may have an ax to grind.
You don’t want Tony “Macaluso” Fabrizio on your bad side.
