Former Republican Congresswoman Sandy Adams has all but announced that she is running for Rep. Ron DeSantis’ soon-to-be open congressional seat, this as the popular member of Congress declared that he would seek to replace Senator Marco Rubio in the U.S. Senate.
After State Rep. Fred Costello endorsed Sandy Adams to replace Desantis on a Daytona Beach radio state this week, Adams told the same radio show that she was in fact thinking about making another run for Congress in Florida’s 6th congressional district. It is my pleasure to endorse Congresswoman Sandy Adams:
When I was advised that Congressman DeSantis was considering a run for U. S. Senate, I immediately reached out to (former) Congresswoman Sandy Adams because I believe she is uniquely qualified to best represent Congressional District 6.

Sandy is a proven leader who can take the baton from Congressman DeSantis and hit the ground running as our Congresswoman. She will be a passionate voice for conservative values, for upholding our Constitution with an emphasis on States’ Rights and will bring common sense solutions to Washington, D.C.
I am proud and honored to give my full support and enthusiastic endorsement to Sandy Adams for the U. S. House District 6.”-State Rep. Frank Costello (R)
Adams reached out to the Shark Tank and reaffirmed that she was “strongly considering” a run for DeSantis’s congressional seat, saying that in the time she spent away from Congress, she was able meet Americans from all walks of life who expressed to her their concerns for the country.
Those interactions with everyday Americans, including the concern for her granddaughter’s future, are the reasons why Adams is looking at running for Congress again.
DeSantis’ district stretches from Ponte Vedra Beach to New Smyrna Beach and goes as far west as Deland. Adams has represented some of the southern portions of a district, but her Orlando home is well outside of its boundaries.
Here is Adams’ memorable exchange with then-Attorney General Eric Holder during a hearing about the his failed Fast & Furious program:
“I take issue with you saying that we are trying to make political points with Officer Terry’s death-to me it’s personal, ok? It’s not political. One of our officer’s was killed by weapons that were allowed to walk. That should never have happened.” –Congresswoman Sandy Adams
