As many of us are still in shock the Florida House adjourned early I thought it would be a good time to go over the bills that were passed in 2015. We reported on many of these bills during the 2015 session so it is interesting to see if they were passed.
According to the Associated Press, 227 bills made the cut whereas 1,500 bills were rejected. The number of bills that were passed is significantly lower then previous years partially because of the early adjournment.Here is a look at the winners and losers of 2015:

WINNERS
Bills that passed both chambers:
1. Make the presidential primary date March 15, 2016. Signed by Gov. Rick Scott2. Require 24-hour waiting period before women can get an abortion
3. Legalize half-gallon refillable beer jugs
4. Make revenge porn illegal
5. Allow mail carrier to drive without seat belts on while in route
6. Require strip bars and massage parlors to post signs with a human trafficking help line phone number on them7. Require city, county and state agencies to buy flags made in the USA
8. Allow lawmakers to accept the use of a public building or public property as a gift if it is being used for a public purpose
9. Allow terminally ill patients to try experimental medicines that have since completed the first phase of federal approval
10. Made it illegal to use drones to photograph or record images of people of their property
11. Require websites that sell commercial music and movies to post identification and contact information on their websites12. Keep police body camera videos shot in a private place confidential
13. Make it illegal to impersonate a firefighter
14. Impose term limited on appointees to the Public Service Commission
15. Make it illegal to discriminate against pregnant women
16. Allow citizens without a concealed carry permit to take their gun with them during mandatory evacuations17. Allow children who are victims or potential rape victims or other violent acts to secretly record their attackers
18. Impose tougher penalties for those who pay for sex
19. Allow active and former military members to advise government agencies to keep keep their personal information private
20. Repeal the ban on gay adoption
LOSERSBills that died during session:
1. Approve a new state budget that covered spending for the fiscal year starting July 1
2. Make changes to the Department of Corrections to address corruption and prison deaths
3. Require the development of a plan to protect and clean the state’s water resources
4. Create a post secondary education program for developmentally disabled students
5. Allow the use of medical marijuana
6. Allow school superintendents to designate school employees or volunteers who are current or former military personnel, or law officers and have concealed carry permits to receive special training and carry weapons for public school security
7. Provide tax credits for the film industry as an incentive to come to Florida
8. Allow concealed weapons permit holders to carry guns on state university campuses
9. Regulate hydraulic fracturing drilling
10. Ban people for using bathrooms designated for the opposite sex
11. Allow private adoption agencies with certain religious or moral beliefs to turn down gay couples.
12. Make it illegal for businesses to run background checks on prospective employees
