It is very clear as to why some Democrat lawmakers wanted Loretta Lynch confirmed as the next U.S. Attorney General. The women of the Congressional Black Caucus, especially Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, pushed for Lynch’s confirmation simply because she is African-American.
You think they would have pressed so hard if Lynch was caucasian or Hispanic? I doubt it.Lynch said that she would follow in AG Eric Holder footsteps, which caused many American citizens and lawmakers to express their concerned over her nomination, considering that she has stated her support for Holder, including his past missteps like Fast & Furious, and all of the racially divisive rhetoric he espoused during the Treyvon Martin murder case, as well as the recent police-involved killings in New York City and Ferguson, Missouri.
Here is Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee’s tweet last week about the Lynch confirmation. You be the judge.

Oh, and then there is this loving and racially divisive morsel form the man, Sen. Dick Durbin (D), who compared the U.S. Military to Nazis:
Sen. Dick Durbin, a Democrat from Illinois, blasted Republicans for their treatment of Lynch, likening their handling of her confirmation to Jim Crow segregation. “The fact is there is not substantive reason to stop this nomination,” Durbin said. “Loretta Lynch, the first African-American woman nominated to be attorney general is asked to sit in the back of the buswhen it comes to the Senate calendar. That is unfair. It’s unjust. It is beneath the decorum and dignity of the United States Senate.”-MSNBC
