Our managing editor, Javier Manjarres was on NewsMaxTV’s America’s Forum on Thursday along with Rick Ungar, senior political contributor for Forbes.com to discuss if Chris Christie is going to run for president. They also talked about presidential candidate Marco Rubio’s comment that he would attend a gay marriage and George W. Bush’s comment the biggest problem for Jeb Bush’s candidacy is going to be him.
Governor Chris Christie (NJ-R) has been making his rounds in New Hampshire recently but people are unsure if he is going to run because of his turbulent past. When asked if they thought he would run Ungar said:I think he probably is. I would imagine right now what he is facing is his ability to raise money. . . If he can raise the money I think he’s in. If he can’t its a more difficult situation.
Manjarres responded:

He also said if Christie does not run for president he is not going to lose any sleep over it.
They then shifted gears and talked about another presidential contender, Marco Rubio and his comments that he would attend a gay marriage.Manjarres said he was on the phone with supporters and big donors of Rubio’s that morning and even though they were upset by his comments it was not enough for them to not support him. He said Rubio is very kind and would not be disrespectful to his friends and not go to their wedding if they were gay.
Ungar responded:
I completely understood what he was saying about attending a gay wedding if it was somebody that was a friend or that he cares about, why shouldn’t he. . . I am not going to criticize him for being a human being.
Last they talked about George Bush’s comments that he was going to be his brothers biggest hurdle if he runs for president.
When asked if they thought that was true, Ungar said he was not happy with George W. Bush’s presidency but he thinks he is an upstanding, honest guy.Manjarres commented:
I don’t think George W. Bush could make a difference in what happens to Jeb. It’s the name fatigue. . . he is the third Bush.
