After months of hinting that he was going to run for president in 2016, Senator Marco Rubio made it official Monday night at the Freedom Tower in Miami, where he told a room of 600+ friends and family members that he was running for president of the United States of America.
Rubio was on top of his game. His emotional announcement speech was like most of his past campaign speeches: clear, articulate, and inspiring. The highlight of the speech was when Rubio, without mentioning her name, referred to Hillary Clinton as “a leader from yesterday,” who in her presidential campaign announcement, “promised to take us back to yesterday.”
Rubio then stated, “Yesterday is over,” before going on to announce his presidential candidacy.
