Per POLITICO, the U.S. Capitol is on lock down after shots were fired on the West Front of the complex.Lt. Kimberly Schneider of the Capitol Police said:
The suspected shooter has been neutralized but the U.S. Capitol Building has been locked down as a precautionary measure.

There is also a suspicious package that is being investigated by the police that was left on the lower West Terrace of the Capitol. All roads are closed around the Capitol.
The shooting was confirmed by Capitol police to be a protestor suicide. There is no word if the man who attempted suicide is deceased.
