With the confirmation that Senator Marco Rubio will make his big and long anticipated presidential announcement on April 13 at Miami’s Freedom Tower, and the fact that he’s rebranded his Marcorubio.com website, Rubio is in position to immediately be touted as the frontrunner in the 2016 Republican presidential primary race over Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, and Jeb Bush.
The most recent Quinnipiac poll regarding the 2016 presidential election shows that Jeb Bush is no longer the front runner in New Hampshire due to his unpopularity with the conservative base of the GOP. Bush is really disliked among conservatives all over the country, not just New Hampshire. You need the conservative base to win any election, but could Rubio’s past immigration woes and loss of trust with grassroots conservatives prove to be insurmountable for the junior senator from Florida?
Rubio can put his misstep on immigration reform behind him, if and when he steps up to the mic and tells the American voter that he made a mistake, and asks them to give him another chance.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Remember, the United States of America is a forgiving nation, and if Rubio were to take this political route, he could be hard to beat in the presidential primary.
But then again, Rubio also has to contend with the soaring popularity of his amigo in the Senate, Senator Ted Cruz, who was the first to announce that he was officially running for president in 2016.
There isn’t much different between the two Reagan-like senators, besides their current positions on immigration reform, and the fact that Rubio has a leg up on Cruz when it comes to speaking Espanol. It seems as if one of the prerequisites for running for president is to write a book. With that said, both Cruz and Rubio can check that box, as Cruz is expected to release a book in the coming weeks.
I am sure that Cruz’s book will be as compelling as Rubio’s recent “American Dreams” book, but may not get the type of traction that my “BROWN PEOPLE” book has received.
That was a shameless plug for my book that can be purchased at brownpeople.org.
Cruz has been labeled as being “extreme” for his 21-hour Obamacare stand-off on the floor of the U.S. Senate. But should Rubio, who joined Cruz during his epic filibuster, also be labeled an extremist for doing so?
Rubio has already been called and “extremist” and “sinister” by everyone’s favorite liberal Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who Rubio once said he had a “close and personal” relationship with.Huh?
Yep, he said it.
Both men are principled “movement conservatives” that bring many of the same economic and foreign policy ideas to the table, but the most prominent difference between Rubio and Cruz is their style of speaking.
While Cruz comes off like he is prosecuting his speech, not mincing any words, and calling it how he sees it, Rubio addresses the same issues, only he does it in tone that is perceived as being softer.
Regardless of how either one of them delivers his speech, both Cruz and Rubio drive home the same pro-American message that transcends across the entire political spectrum. Will voters give Rubio a second chance?
