Representative Alan Nunnelee (MS-R) has passed away from cancer at the young age of 56. He had been fighting cancer since last spring and was transferred to hospice care last week after doctors were unable to operate on his tumor.
His family released the following statement:Congressman Alan Nunnelee has gone home to be with Jesus. He was well loved and will be greatly missed.
Nunnelee was a fiscal and social conservative. He was first elected in 2010 and suffered a stroke last June during an operation he had to remove a brain tumor. He was able to return to Washington last November but was stricken with a hematoma in his left leg and was admitted to the hospital on December 28.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
His unfortunate passing means there is a spot open on the House Appropriations Committee and there will most likely be a special election to fill his seat in northern Mississippi.
