Wasserman Schultz Steps Back From Her Controversial Jewish Remark

It really hasn’t been a good week in the media for Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL).

Since we first posted that “leaked” audio of her candidly calling out MSNBC and CNN for biased media coverage of the ongoing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, as well as her using the term “Islamic fundamentalism,” Wasserman Schultz has been bombarded with somewhat negative media coverage over her controversial statements.

First of all, tying Islam with terrorism in anyway is a very big no no in the Obama administration.

In the same audio clip, Wasserman Schultz states that the Jewish community has a problem with intermarriage. Meaning, that too many Jews are marrying outside of the Jewish faith.

After just about every media outlet from NBC,CBS, Washington Post, Daily Caller, Mediate, ABC, Newsmax, and a slew of others picked up the SHARK TANK story and audio of Wasserman Schultz talking about the Jewish problem of intermarriage, the Florida congresswoman seems to have now “walked back” her remarks.

“At an annual Jewish community event in my congressional district, I spoke about my personal connection to Judaism and in a larger context about the loss of Jewish identity and the importance of connecting younger generations to the institutions and values that make up our community. I do not oppose intermarriage; in fact, members of my family, including my husband, are a product of it,” the Florida Demorat said in a statement.

Wasserman Schultz’s remark was made through the Democrat National Committee, this according to NBC News.
