With his book being released in the coming weeks, and by giving big and bold speeches like the one he delivered at the Heritage Foundation’s 2015 conservative policy summit the other day, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is positioning himself to run for president in 2016, and may very well be the favorite amongst conservatives in the potential Republican primary race.
Cruz continues to stick with to his principles, calling for the repeal of Obamacare, even as liberal Democrats and media outlets continue to run cover for the failing healthcare law, as well as doing their best to marginalize Cruz as just being a Tea party “Wacko Bird.”1 day left to #GetCovered with coverage starting 2/1. Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Cruz lays out “ten policy principles that Republicans should pursue in 2016”:“If each and every senator in January answers questions the exact same way we would have answered questions in October before the election, that will have a transformational effect. In my view, Republicans should take this opportunity to lead with a big, bold agenda that focuses on jobs, on liberty and on security.”-Sen. Ted Cruz
• Embrace a big pro-jobs, growth Agenda
• Pursue all means possible to repeal Obamacare
• Secure the border and stop illegal amnesty
• Hold government accountable and rein in judicial activism
• Stop the culture of corruption
• Pass fundamental tax reform, making taxes flatter, simpler, and fairer
• Audit the Federal Reserve
• Pass a strong balanced budget amendment
• Champion school choice and repeal common core
• Deal seriously with the twin threats of ISIL and a nuclear Iran
Quite possibly the biggest issue that could define the 2016 Republican presidential primary is Common Core.
Cruz is obviously against it, but current 2016 GOP presidential frontrunner and establishment favorite to win the nomination, Jeb Bush, has wholeheartedly embraced the education standards, and is spearheading the advancement of Common Core across the country.
Take the poll! Who would you support in the 2016 GOP presidential primary?
