Florida’s employee-owned Publix Supermarkets, based out of Lakeland, has announced that it will be giving a belated Christmas present to “any couple married in any state,” including those couples who are bound in a same-sex marriage.
Starting tomorrow, or January 1, 2015, any Publix employee will have the opportunity to enroll and receive dental, health, and vision benefits to couples ” married in any state, regardless of the laws where the worker lives.”The decision from the employee-owned company comes as Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi and others fight to uphold Florida’s ban on same-sex marriage, despite a federal judge’s ruling striking down the 2008 state constitutional amendment.
We knew this would happen. Look, many of you oppose gay marriage on face value. I tend to think that everyone should have the opportunity to marry and lose half of their assets ‘when’ they get divorced.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
I personally don’t care about who gets married to whom, but the issue I have is with activists judges who think they can force same-sex marriage done our throats, and then try to force religious institutions to conduct same-sex marriages against their beliefs and teachings.
That is were I draw the 10 items or less express line.
“Attention any Publix employees, there is clean up needed on aisle 7 right next to the rainbow flags and ‘I honk for hunks’ bumperstickers.”
