In yet another move that could signal that he will announcing a run for president in 2016, Jeb Bush will be stepped down from the board from Tenet Healthcare Corp on Dec. 31.
According to Fox News, Bush spokesperson Kristy Campbell confirmed the move that will surely fuel the speculation that he will in fact will be running for office. Even though Bush has recently announced that he is “actively” exploring the run for president, and is considered the favorite, or frontrunner among the “establishment” base of the Republican Party, Bush is expected to face significant pushback and opposition from the conservative base of the GOP.
On January 24, 2015, the Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Citizens United will be hosting the inaugural conservative Iowa Freedom Summit that will be taking place in Des Moines, and Jeb Bush is not scheduled to attend.
According to the Summit’s website’s listing of confirmed attendees-many of then being potential 2016 presidential candidates-including Sarah Palin, Gov. Rick Perry, Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Ted Cruz, Dr. Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, and Donald Trump, Bush is not on the list of possible, or confirmed attendees.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Because Bush is not listed on the website, it doesn’t mean that he may not attend at the last hour, or that he may not attend at all because of a scheduling conflict.
But after making the statement that, if he did mount a presidential campaign, he would run a campaign strategy of “lose the primary to win the general,” the case can be made that he will skip this
This statement by Bush left a bad taste in the mouths of conservatives, who quickly quipped that Bush had just signaled that he would run for president as more of a moderate, and would compromise his conservative principles.
