After South Florida’s Barry University was called out for allowing an Imam to speak at a 9/11 “interfaith” memorial service, where he took it upon himself to chant “Allahu Akbar,” or “God is greatest,” the school apparently tried to cover up its knowledge of the content of Imam Nasir Ahmad’s Muslim “Call to Prayer.”
Laura Loomer was the senior who first expressed her disappointment in the school’s willingness to allow Ahmad to chant the phrase “Allahu Akbar,” which many Americans see as being offensive, considering that it was uttered by the Islamic terrorist who carried out the 9/11 terror attacks.Loomer followed up with the school this past Monday, asking them for a copy of the pamphlet that was distributed at the memorial service. The attendant at the school’s Campus Ministry, where the pamphlets were kept, first told Loomer that she would get her a copy of the program, but in an apparent and blatant attempt to hide the event program, the attendant came back and told Loomer that didn’t have any left.
Here is what Loomer said happened:

You also agree to this site's Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.When I asked them for a copy, they said they probably had some copies in the back and would give me one. I waited for about 10 minutes. Then the woman came out and gave me the following elaborate excuse, “oh we don’t have any, it wasn’t made by us. It was made by marketing.
We don’t have access to the electronic file because it’s on a third person’s computer that we don’t have access to.” Then I said, “oh, but you just told me you had one to give me.”
Then the woman said she was told not to give me a paper. Then I said why, are you trying to hide something. She just giggled. So then I went to speak to a professor.I told the professor that I was worried that they would digitally alter the copy and erase Allah Akbar and the supremacist message that Allah is the best god out of the electronic copy so they could cover their tracks. I said that I would complain and inform people of their deceit and lies.
So the professor emailed administrators who then told Campus Ministry to give me the pamphlet. I then received this email: “Thank you for stopping by today. I was found a printed copy of the worship aid, so please stop by Campus Ministry at any time today to pick it up.
Thanks and have a great rest of your day!”
The Shark Tank obtained a copy of the 2-page long program which dedicated an entire phrase to Imam Ahmad.
Loomer contends that this “interfaith” memorial was about Islamic extremism, radicalization, and indoctrination, which overshadowed all of the other religions that were slated to address the service.
The pamphlet was 2 pages long and out of all of those religions, Islam had an entire page to itself while the other 4 had to share a page, half of which was a song.
So pretty much only half a page of the pamphlet was left for the other 4 religions.
This is blatant supremacism. By the design of the pamphlet and the words that were recited, it is clear that the Imam was attempting to dominate the service and Barry allowed him to.
Loomer’s point is very clear, and just by seeing how the program was laid out, it is evident that Barry University foresaw how Ahmad’s “Call to Prayer” might be offensive to attendees, that is why they had “spelled it all out” in the program. One catching phrase in Ahmad’s prayer is the one that calls for Muslims to “rise up for prayer.”
As Loomer questioned, “Rise up to who? Rise up to America? Rise up to 9/11 victims? Rise up to the West? Rise up to all who oppose Islam?”
Here is the pamphlet in question.
Here is the rest of Loomer’s assessment:
If you look at the Arabic chant attached on the email that was chanted over and over again by the Imam, you will see that there are several alarming phrases. Allah Akbar does not mean God is great. It means God is greater. This is supremacist because it implies that Allah is the best and is better than all of you and all of your religions, Allah is better than the 9/11 victims, Allah is greater than all of the other people represented at the interfaith event. Next, the phrase I bear witness that there is no God except the one God (Allah).
This is highly offensive. We live in a pluralistic society where many different religions are represented, which includes both monotheism and polytheism. Barry allowed the Imam to chant this hurtful phrase in the present of a majority Western audience. Most of the people at the event do not worship Allah.
I am a Jewish Atheist, so for me this was a direct attack on my Judaism and my independent choice to not chose a God. I was sitting next to a Catholic student at the time and she was appalled. This is not the type of message a Catholic university should be sending out to it’s students.
None of the other religions that were represented at the event proclaimed their God superior to all others. This is radicalism at its finest. Islamic extremism, the greatest threat facing the United States today. If we as members of Barry University are expected to uphold values of social justice and equality, then we must begin with Barry administrators and religious personnel so that they do not spread the Imam’s hateful message.
Next, we have the phrase Rise up for prayer. My question again, “rise up to who? Rise up to America? Rise up to 9/11 victims? Rise up to the West? Rise up to all who oppose Islam?”
This is a very antagonistic message to be chanting at a 9/11 memorial, and is nothing more than inappropriate.
“Only constant repetition will finally succeed in imprinting an idea on the memory of the crowd.”
This is a quote describing the psychology of Islamic extremists. It has been used to describe the tactics used by those who wish to spread extremism.
They argue that repetition is the best way to imprint an idea, to force a belief onto someone with opposing views. If you look at the picture I attached, you will see that It is mentioned several times that certain phrases about Allah being the greatest and only God are repeated several times.
It is not a coincidence that the phrase that is repeated the most is Allah Akbar, which like I said means God is Greater. By allowing the Imam to speak first, Barry University allowed him to sabotage the authority of every other religious spokesperson who spoke at the event.
Loomer is looking for the university to apologize to her and to the countless of others offended by the Imam’s “Allahu Akbar”chant.
Will Barry University apologize?
