Shortly after taking the microphone at one of Governor Rick Scott’s campaign bus tour stops in Miami, Florida, Attorney General Pam Bondi gave the Shark Tank an update on her efforts to combat human trafficking here in the state of Florida.
Bondi pointed out that the newly minted and first of its kind 15-member, 3-year council on human trafficking in Florida-of which she is the honorable chair- had convened for the first time a few weeks ago.One focus that Bondi said the council was working on was to create a taxpayer funded, but specifically a public/private partnership “residential facility” that would assist and protect these women who have been victimized and addicted to drugs by their captors, and have suffered “severe medical and psychological issues” as a result of their imprisonment.
Bondi then spoke about the ill-advised trip to Mexico City she took earlier this year to meet with Mexican leaders on human trafficking.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Bondi’s trip was frowned upon by law enforcement, which suggested that she not go, citing the obvious security concerns of travelling to one of the most dangerous countries in the world.
Bondi added that the assistance her council looks to provide these victims, many of whom are “babies having babies,” will hopefully help law enforcement’s efforts to educate these girls, as well as give them the confidence they need to stand up against their captors, in the event that criminal cases are brought against them.
