With all this talk from President Obama about how his fledgling economy is on the rebound, and that he fully supports American small businesses, you would think that his close amigos and members of Congress -from his own political party- would follow his lead in supporting blue collar American job creators, right?
This apparently wasn’t the case in Davie, Florida, when Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz decided to hold a press conference this week asking Floridians to boycott the first Hobby Lobby store in Florida. This store has been open since April, so I am not sure why she decided to wait four months to mount this tea party-esque protest. It must have been a slow news day, or perhaps there wasn’t much for her to do during the Congress’ month-long August recess.
“I want people to know that this Hobby Lobby is here and they should vote with their purses and their pocketbooks, and women should not shop here. If you didn’t know this Hobby Lobby was here before, know it now and don’t shop here. They don’t deserve women’s business because they are the ones that all across the country have made it harder for women to get access to birth control.”-Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D)
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Wasserman Schultz is naturally upset over the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in favor of Hobby Lobby over the federal government’s, when the faith-based company filed a lawsuit to prevent them from having to follow the contraceptive provision in Obamacare mandating companies to provide employees access to the morning-after pill.
‘DWS’ continued by saying that her family is votes with their wallets.I want to make sure that people understand that there’s a business here that doesn’t support its employees, that wants to be able to get in the personal business of their employees and make health care decisions and replace their own values, replace their employees’ health care decisions, with their values….
“Our family votes with our wallets,” she said. “So when we discover a company doesn’t share our family’s values and makes contributions or spends its profits on causes with which we don’t agree, we don’t patronize those businesses anymore. Hobby Lobby is one of the prime examples.”
Wasserman Schultz is famous for holding these types of tea party protests. She did it during the whole Chick-Fil-A scandal, where the owner of the company stated that he did not support same-sex marriage, and she did it back in 2010 in protest of Allen West.
