Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson’s marital woes continue to take center stage in this year’s mid-term elections, as his wife Lolita Grayson has just jabbed back at the congressman’s recent bigamy allegation against her.
Grayson contends that his wife Lolita was still married to her former husband when the two married in 1990, and that their marriage should be null and voided.In an affidavit filed by Lolita Grayson, she contends that she “was and still am of the belief I divorced [her previous husband] in 1981.”
Grayson, D-Orlando, in a counter-petition to his wife’s January divorce filing, alleged that when he met Lolita in 1985, she falsely “represented herself as single in order to induce Mr. Grayson to marry her.”

Years later, Alan Grayson claimed Lolita Grayson “secretly participated” in a 1994 divorce from her prior husband, a man named Robert A. Carson, in Broward County.
However, in the new affidavit, Lolita Grayson says she signed divorce papers presented by Carson “so he could proceed with a divorce in 1981 in Guam,” and believed she was divorced when she remarried.
“I did not participate in any dissolution of marriage proceeding in Broward County… in 1994 or at any time before or since,” she writes, adding that she didn’t learn of those proceedings until earlier this year.-OS
Grayson’s Republican opponents in the race have been quiet about the ugly divorce case, but as long as this case continues to drag on into the mud, and more possibly racy allegations of the divorce surface, one could probably expect Grayson’s GOP opponents to pounce on him over issues such as Domestic Violence.
