Former Congressman David Rivera (R) surprised everyone by appearing at the first Republican forum in Florida’s 26th congressional district that was held at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.
The debate was put on by the Women’s Republican Club of Miami, Federated, the Miami GOP, as well as by a couple of other Republican clubs. The clubs were able to get Channel 10’s Glenna Milberg to moderate the forum, who opened the evening by stating that the questions she was asking were not her own, but those of the clubs and audience.Shortly after the forum ended, I caught up with Democrat Congressman Joe Garcia’s Campaign Manager, Juan Pendalosa.
You knew Garcia would send his people to the debate, so I decided to ask Pendalosa a few questions.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Pendalosa said that Garcia’s campaign was just there “watching the process,” and neither he nor the campaign “were not rooting for anyone” to win, adding that he felt “they all did their job.”
When I asked him to comment about the Republican candidates’ bashing of his boss, in particularly when they accused him of having ethics issues, calling him corrupt, and being accused of having involvement in absentee ballot fraud, Pendalosa stated that he had no comment.
With an FBI investigation still looming over Rivera’s head, it was his turn to face the political music, as reporters, especially a feisty Patty Mazzei of the Miami Herald, who tried her best to get Rivera to answer a couple important questions that he has apparently been avoiding.Rivera did not budge from his talking points, when Mazzei asked him about his current employment, and asked him if he thought it was above board to ask him about his ethics and character.
Here is Rivera’s response to Mazzei:
I am going to fulfill my commitment to voters, to focus on the issues.-David Rivera
