The Islamist terrorgroup suspected of carrying out the Benghazi U.S. Consulate attack, Ansar al-Sharia, has just taken a blow to their leadership, as their commander, Ahmed Abu Khattala, has been nabbed by U.S. Special Forces in Libya.
President Obama signed off on the mission on Friday night, Fox News is told. Khattala was captured south of Benghazi by U.S. special operators and is on his way to the U.S. aboard a Navy ship.“He didn’t know what hit him,” one source told Fox News of the capture. According to sources, there was no firefight — a small Special Forces team with one FBI agent took part in the mission.-FOX News
Now Khattala is on his way to the U.S. to be prosecuted, and not to the more appropriate Guantanamo Bay detention facility, where terrorists like him, have been incarceration.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) both believe that Khattala should be sent to GITMO, and not be afforded access to the U.S. criminal justice system.
“It is long overdue that justice be delivered to the terrorists who conducted the attacks of September 11, 2012 against U.S. diplomatic facilities in Benghazi, Libya and killed four Americans. The capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala is welcome news, and a testament to the bravery and skill of U.S. Special Forces and the FBI.“The Obama Administration should immediately transfer him to the military detention center at Guantanamo Bay for detention and interrogation. In order to locate all individuals associated with the attacks that led to the deaths of four Americans, we need intelligence. That intelligence is often obtained through an interrogation process.
“At times, this Administration has been more interested in the politics of the war on terrorism than the execution of it, and we have not had an articulable detention policy in six years. I look forward to hearing from the Administration how they plan to obtain information from Ahmed Abu Khattala, where they intend to detain him, and what the next steps are for going after those responsible for these attacks.
“America remains at war and a return to the failed law enforcement approach of the 1990s is not an adequate response to the very real threats we face.”-Senator Marco Rubio
This is once again, another example of how Obama continues to fail America.
Meanwhile, the situation in Iraq continues to worsen, as the terror group ISIS, continues to gain ground against Iraqi government forces.
A U.S. contractor currently working in Baghdad, and who is employed by a Blackwater-type security group, has texted the Shark Tank a short overview of what is happening in that country.
“It’s getting back to war conditions here and it’s about to get serious again..My Afghanistan roommate just evacuated 68 people out of Baji in the north.”
