Texas Senator Ted Cruz (R) becomes the latest high-profile member of Congress to call for a full and thorough investigation into the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (VA), and their concealment of “gross misconduct, which resulted in the unnecessary loss of lives of our brave veterans.”
Cruz calls for jail time for those found responsible neglecting healthcare to veterans, which has led to numerous deaths around the country. Cruz, who could face-off against Senator Marco Rubio in the 2016 Republican presidential primary election, also stated that the Congress should pass Rubio’s “Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act,” which Cruz also co-sponsored in the Senate.Earlier this week, Rubio called on the VA to release its “secret electronic wait list data for all Veterans Affairs Medical Centers (VAMC) in Florida.”

Secretary Shinseki has serious questions to answer, and I will be closely listening to his testimony to Congress tomorrow.

Just a few weeks back, Florida Governor Rick Scott accused the VA of blocking state healthcare inspectors from it’s hospital facilities, while Republican congressional candidate, Jorge Bonilla, has called for Shinseki to resign.
