Democrat Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz has been on the political frontlines, pushing back against what she perceives to be voter suppression by Florida Governor Rick Scott.
Wasserman Schultz’s recent email petition sign up ask to supporters, accuses Scott of conducting an “illegal voter purge in Florida,” and accusing Republicans of cheating to win elections by suppressing voters in “Democratic strongholds,” which is code for heavily populated minority communities.These people are willing to try anything — including closing polling places in Democratic strongholds — to keep themselves in office.”
It’s not hard to see what’s going on here. In 2012, Republicans lost the popular vote for the House of Representatives by about a million votes. Now, in the midterms, they’re trying to suppress the Democratic vote because they know that they can’t win in a fair fight.
