After waiting two years, Speaker Boehner has finally called for a House Select Committee to look into the terrorist attack against the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.
Boehner’s call for the Select Committee is a direct result of the recently released White House emails to the conservative watchdog group, Judicial Watch, which suggest that former U.N. ambassador Susan Rice was prepped to blame the attack on an internet video, before appearing to discuss the Benghazi attack on several Sunday political shows. On September 18, 2013, Democrat Congressman Alan Grayson attended a House Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the Benghazi, where he stated that the attack on the U.S. Consulate was “the scandal that never was.”
It seems as if Grayson spoke too soon.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Now Grayson’s chief Republican opponent in this year’s mid-term elections, Navy veteran Jorge Bonilla, is calling on Grayson to retract his statement, and have the “guts” to join the House Select Committee to investigate the matter further.
After nearly two years of obfuscation and evasions from the Obama administration and its enablers, House leadership has finally move forward on a Select Committee to investigate the September 11th, 2012 terrorist attack against the United States Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
Recently uncovered White House e-mails suggest, at a minimum, an ongoing pattern of deception which merits a full investigation, regardless of where the facts may lead.
I am confident that Congressman Trey Gowdy and his team will do exactly that.
When then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton went before the House Foreign Affairs committee, Congressman Alan Grayson engaged Mrs. Clinton with softball questions, which allowed her to build the predicates from which she would seek to avoid any accountability on Benghazi.
In light of this recent evidence, I call on Mr. Grayson to retract his inaccurate statement, in which he called the Benghazi attack, “the scandal that never was.”Mr. Grayson should also show some of those “guts” he says he has, by bucking his party’s leadership, and join the Select Committee to investigate the attack against the consulate in Benghazi.
Truth, justice, and accountability should never be subordinate to partisan loyalties.
Bonilla joins the growing list of Republican congressional candidates and legislators, like Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis, who have been demanding that this Select Committee be formed.
“For two years the Administration has stonewalled congressional investigations into the Benghazi terror attack. I have been calling for a Select Committee since I took office, and I fully support giving them every tool necessary to investigate what happened that night. The American people deserve to know the truth.”-Rep. Ron DeSantis (R)
