State Senator Jack Latvala’s pro-amnesty for illegal aliens bill, SB1400, is failing.
The bill which gifts in-state tuition to children of illegal aliens, regardless of whether or not they knowingly came to the U.S. illegally, has passed through committees, but state Senator Joe Negron (R) has put halt to it in the Senate Appropriations Committee.“I didn’t think the burden of proof was met to show the necessity for the bill,” he said, adding at least two schools — Miami Dade College and Florida International University — already offer in-state tuition to students who are illegal immigrants. Further, Negron said, “despite best efforts by everyone, it’s unclear, even now, what the fiscal impact will be.”-TC Palm
As expected, Latvala tried to insert his pro-illegal immigration language to other bills, but failed to do so.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
One note to add. Latvala, who represents the moderate wing of the GOP, and Negron, who is considered a true Conservative, are both vying to become the next Senate president in 2016.
I wonder if this legislative squabble has anything to do with the Senate presidency position?
