The liberal George Soros-backed American Bridge PAC, who makes a living by sending out “trackers” to video record just about every Republican political event, has just released a video accusing Florida Governor Rick Scott of being a racist.
Racist? Have they even heard Scott speak Espanol? The guy is a natural, not really. But a racist? Please. Here is American Bridge’s statement:
Rick Scott’s campaign has been facing increasing fire for its outreach to Latino Floridians since his top fundraiser quit last week and claims surfaced that Scott’s campaign staff made racially insensitive comments. Unfortunately for Scott, his association with claims of discrimination extends much further back. Before he became governor, Scott co-founded a chain of walk-in health care clinics called Solantic.

Yarian claimed Scott encouraged “mainstream” hires when faced with a Latino job candidate, and that Scott said “no” to hiring an otherwise qualified candidate based on his “slight accent.”
In addition to Yarian, Solantic came under fire from multiple other employees with similar claims. Between 2003 and 2005, five Solantic supervisors and two employees claimed the company prevented hiring based on race, age or weight.
These seven employees filed a combined lawsuit in 2006, and Solantic settled for an undisclosed sum in 2007. Between Solantic, Scott’s support for extreme Arizona-style anti-immigration law, and his recent campaign drama, the choice for Latino Floridians is clear: Rick Scott is bad for Florida.
Pathetic.
Soros, I mean American Bridge, first refers to the ongoing “Burrito-gate” scandal that the Scott campaign denies even happened. Remember, former Scott’s former campaign finance chairman Mike Fernandez accused some Scott staffers of making “racially insensitive comments” before a campaign fundraiser.
Fernandez quit, and the campaign’s consultant, Curt Anderson called him an “renegade donor.”
The actual video uses an old video interview with one of Scott’s old Solantic executives, who questioned Scott’s supposed “mainstream” employment practices of not hiring fat people or Hispanics who speak with a heavy accent.American Bridge is implying that Rick Scott is such a racist, that he only hires racists who can speak like everyone’s favorite Mexican mouse, Speedy Gonzalez.
