Republican congressional candidate Curt Clawson and nation’s largest Tea Party PAC, Tea Party Express, have both released statements announcing that the PAC will be making a “major announcement” this coming Wednesday, March 19 at the Curt Clawson for Congress campaign headquarters.
According to the Tea Party Express release, other Tea Party leaders and activists, including Byron Donalds, who recently endorsed Clawson, and is a favorite of the conservative grassroots movement in Collier County, Florida, will also be in attendance. The last time Clawson held an event like this, Donalds endorsed. So it is fair to suggest and assume the heavyweight Tea Party Express, who in the past has backed conservatives like Sarah Palin, Allen West, Marco Rubio, and Ted Cruz, will back Clawson’s candidacy.
A Tea Party Express endorsement could completely turn the grassroots tide in Clawson’s favor, as both he and his chief Republican opponent, state Senator Lizbeth Benacquisto, are locked in a ugly political mud fight, which includes their other opponent, Paige Kreegel, Super PAC’s, and some baseless accusation, in hopes to win over the coveted Republican grassroots.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Benacquisto is considered the favorite in the race, simply because of her name recognition in the area, but Clawson’s deep pockets could effectively paint Benacquisto as the establishment Republican candidate that many Southwest Florida voters already consider her to be.
