The little statement Democrat Charlie Crist recently made about how Cubans were suffering because of the U.S. embargo against Cuba, has drawn the criticism of Florida’s Lieutenant Governor, Carlos Lopez-Cantera.
Lopez-Cantera, who is Cuban-American and owns a white Guayabera shirt, was at the Miami gun show with Governor Rick Scott, and lashed out at “Charlie’s ignorance” on the U.S. embargo against Cuba.‘CLC’ added that he didn’t believe Crist would have made such an “insulting” remark, if the former governor was fully aware of the kind of repression and human rights violations that exist on the communist island of Cuba.
It just shows Charlie’s ignorance on the issue. If he knew what was going on down there, he wouldn’t have said that, but he has, an its kind of insulting being a Cuban-American to hear him say that.”-Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Scott also added that the U.S. needed to stand in solidarity with the Cuban people.
Prior to speaking to the Shark Tank on Crist’s Cuba remark, Scott and Lopez-Cantera did what apparently is a Lopez-Cantera ritual when attending the gun show, and stopping by the beef jerky booth to ‘get them some.’This nation is built on democracy and freedom, Cuba is not. We need to stand with the Cuban people for democracy and freedom.-Gov. Rick Scott
