Florida’s freshman Democratic Congressman, Patrick Murphy, who once praised the “not perfect” Obamacare exchanges and voted to keep IRS in charge of the healthcare law’s enforcement, is asking the Obama administration to fix the flawed law.Murphy put out this statement on his Congressional website, acknowledging the laws business penalty delays, and used the evil “repeal” word, when he asked that the new taxes that that would be attached to new insurance plans, be repealed.
“I was pleased to hear of the Administration’s decision to delay penalties for businesses under the Affordable Care Act. Our businesses are leading the way in economic growth and job creation as we continue to struggle to climb out of the recession. Just when the recovery is starting to take hold does not mean that we should be adding new uncertainty, taxes, or costly mandates to sectors of our economy that can least afford it.

Yesterday’s announcement is a good first step to make sure that the business community is not overburdened and that our seniors and working families are protected as much as possible.
But more work must be done. I am sponsoring several bills to help make the law better. This includes repealing the new taxes on insurance plans, including Medicare Advantage plans for seniors, to make premiums more affordable. In amending the bill to make it more effective we must also protect the crucial benefits that people are already receiving, including not being able to be kicked off insurance if they get sick and closing the Medicare prescription drug donut hole, saving seniors $600 annually.”-Rep. Patrick Murphy (D)
Murphy recently ran for cover for supporting Obamacare, by joining Democratic colleagues in the House, in signing onto a Republican plan that would allow insurers non-Obamacare-conforming healthcare plans.
Republicans are licking their political chops, as they realize that the failing Obamacare law would be the ticket to regaining the majority in the U.S. Congress. Murphy, who is running for re-election in 2014, does not have a serious Republican challenger, yet.
It has long been speculated that former Florida House Majority leader, Adam Hasner, may jump into the race.
According to politico’s within the Republican-led House of Representatives, and within the party’s political committees, Hasner is said to be the one candidate that the GOP with coalesce around, considering this proven track record of campaign and fundraising prowess.
In other words, the GOP believes Hasner would be the most electable candidate, if he decided to jump into the race.Follow the Shark Tank on Twitter and Facebook
