There can’t possibly be a liberal activist Judge presiding in courthouse? (Sarcasm)During the Q & A session of this first town hall meeting in Orlando, Florida, Democratic Congressman Alan Grayson gave a very interesting answer to a question posed by 9th Circuit Court Judge Roger J. McDonald, on whether the idea of tying the American minimum wage to the gross income of big corporations should be considered.
Congressman Grayson asked ” How do you get corporations to pay their fair share of the social burden?”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Grayson went on to answer the man’s question, stating that what he described “only occurs when the employees are organized and they have a way to influence the actions of the company.” He added that what the man described did in fact already occur in Germany, “because in Germany, by law, the employees must have representation on the board of directors.”
In every major company in Germany, the workers get to choose people on the board of directors. So the result of that is, the workers have a say in the entire pay structure of the company from the top, all the way to the bottom. And I think if we had a system like that, we’ll start to see results like what you are describing. -Rep. Alan Grayson
Grayson said that in comparing the American economic system to the German one, “indicates that we’re not doing enough in every respect to make sure that the money that comes into companies are being distributed in the manner that the people working there helped to create.”
By every scale, German workers extremely productive, very competitive, and somehow giving them that say and how the spoils are divided with each company, only motivates them that much more.
So, you know, I think that what you are describing when you compare out system to Germany indicates that we’re not doing enough in every respect to make sure that the money that comes into companies are being distributed in the manner that the people working there helped to create.- Rep.
