As many of other Americans did today before going to work, I went to my bank, Wells Fargo, to withdraw some dinero from the ATM machine. As I walked up to the ATM, this screensaver image promoting the banks gay youth outreach was staring right at me. The area of Fort Lauderdale this particular bank is situated could be considered to be ‘gay-friendly,’ but to pander to a specific group, like the LGBT, is a bit of a stretch. Am I off-base here? I have yet to see a similar ATM screen reach out to Blacks, Hispanics, or Veterans Groups, or maybe this is common practice for banks, and I have just haven’t noticed.Trending: Governor Scott Releases new Advertisement
A question that crossed my mind was, what about all of those ‘straight’ kids who also need “help and hope?”
So, to all of you out there who visit an ATM bank on a regular basis, is it common practice for banks to pander to these types of groups?
