With his poll numbers lagging all of his potential Democratic Gubernatorial opponents in next year’s 2014 mid-term elections, there is no secret that Republicans have been wondering if someone within their ranks could or would step up and primary challenge Florida Governor Rick Scott.
So far, several of the possible future Republican gubernatorial candidates have either avoided answering the question of possibly primary challenging Rick Scott, or have said outright that they would not.

The one man who many believe could run against Scott is current Speaker of the House, Will Weatherford. Weatherford butted heads with Scott when the governor decided to accept extending Medicaid, switching his anti-Obamacare position.
We caught up with Weatherford in Orlando this past week, where we asked him about the rumored ‘rift’ between him and Scott, as well as a possible gubernatorial run in 2014.
When asked if he would challenge Scott, Weatherford said:There is no rift. He and I are laser-focused on doing one thing, and that’s creating jobs. To me, the Medicaid is one issue, the governor and I agree on 99% of the issues that face Florida, we have a great working relationship-Rep. Weatherford
There is no chance, I’m not running for anything in 2014… I am very supportive of the Governor…I fully support him.- Rep. Will Weatherford
