The Left would like you to believe Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.) is a shoe-in for reelection in 2014 even though he only won by 312 votes in 2008. Enter Minnesota Businessman Mike McFadden, who is ready to give the incumbent a run for his money.
The relatively unknown McFadden launched his campaign just a couple weeks ago but is already only 15 points behind Franken in early polls. The 48 year-old businessman and Georgetown Law graduate is focusing on the problems plaguing his state. “We still have this stagnant economy. We have a massive amount of debt,” he said. All of which Franken has done little to remedy.

McFadden is also a family man and father of six who devotes his time to helping underprivileged children get accepted into college. He currently sits on the board of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, which celebrated 100% acceptance of its students into college this year. Mike McFadden is actively seeking to make a difference in the community through education, and is running for Senate to make a larger impact.
Mike’s campaign released an endearing video in which his teenage daughter discusses her dad’s experience and personal history. It even features a brief shot of New York Times bestselling author Vince Flynn, who writes political thrillers, standing with McFadden in their college football jerseys. Vince Flynn is a favorite of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck and has made several appearances on both of their popular programs. Left-leaning publications like the Washington Post have taken swings at the video, calling it “slickly produced.” The video has also drawn critical comments from left-leaning groups such as the Alliance for a Better Minnesota.
The good news behind these early attacks: these groups see him as a viable threat. If they didn’t, they wouldn’t be wasting their time, effort, or money. This will be the race to watch for a much-needed Republican Senate Seat.Share and “Like” the story below and leave a comment. Follow The Shark Tank on Twitter and Facebook
