I am happy to announce that I’ve joined The Shark Tank as a contributor. True story: I once ran into Javier Manjarres at a Rubio campaign event. I was there as part of Rubio’s Central Florida Hispanic outreach office, and Javier was covering a huge bus-tour event (The Villages, I think) that featured then-Senator George Lemieux. We exchanged pleasantries and a few words of satisfaction regarding the progress of the Allen West campaign before going our separate ways.
My boss promptly pulled me to the side and said, “ten cuidado con ese bonitillo, es un periodista (be careful around that pretty boy, he’s a journalist)”. While I have nothing to say with regard Javier’s prettiness, I can speak to his journalistic integrity- from his coverage of Univision’s despicable treatment of Marco Rubio, to his coverage of the Wasserman-Schultz/Harrington race and to the manner in which he has covered events both in South Florida and throughout the nation.
My reason for joining The Shark Tank is, at the core, the same reason I founded both El Tercer Riel (The Third Rail) and Joe Biden Looking At Things, and the reason why I swing the warhammer on local and national radio (hit CC for subtitles on that last link). We’re here to advance a message and an ideal. Our backgrounds allow us to reach a wide group of individuals, and it is important that we come together so that we may engage what is a vicious media onslaught against free-thinking men and women. I’ll still be doing my thing to some extent, but I’m happy to be here and look forward to our continued conversation.
