by Javier ManjarresWith Democrat Senator Bill Nelson running the most evasive campaigns in U.S. Senate history, Republican senatorial candidate Connie Mack is continuing his “Freedom” bus tour around the state of Florida in hopes of defeating Nelson come November 6th.

Mack met with a group of Republican faithful in Boca Raton, addressing the latest Rasmussen reports poll that had him trailing Nelson by only 3 points- well within the margin of error, and with Nelson unable to hit the 50% mark.
Mack also said that the poll was very telling, in that “people know him (Nelson) and don’t like him.” Mack drew cheers from the crowd as he outlined a stark contrast between he and Nelson, reminding those in attendance that he voted against the disastrous ‘Obamacare’ law while Nelson was one of President Obama’s leading supporters of the very unpopular law.
Nelson turned down a series of debates against Mack, and now Floridians know why that was the case, considering the convincing victory that Mack earned on Nelson during their one and only senatorial debate a few weeks back in Davie.
While this race is still very close, “Mackmentum” has shifted into high gear, and if Mitt Romney’s rise in the polls continues, expect that excitement and success to trickle down to this Senate race as well into other down the ballot races. Here’s an excerpt of Mack’s stump speech yesterday at the Romney Victory office Boca Raton-
If you think about what America is all about, we believe in big dreams, we believe that our children should reach for the stars… As Americans we want to work hard, we want to compete, we know nothing is handed to us, but we expect a government that respects us for trying, for going out there and working for it. Right now our federal government has turned the lights down a little bit on that American dream. As your next Senator, I will fight to make sure we turn that light back up, that all Americans, all Floridians can dream big and reach for the stars, we will get this country moving in the right direction. – Connie Mack
