Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s campaign organized a media conference call to discuss President Barack Obama’s “taxpayer funded” tour of Florida. The call was led by Romney spokesman Ryan Williams and featured remarks from Congressmen Dennis Ross and Mario Diaz-Balart as well as incoming Speaker of the Florida House Will Weatherford.
It was hardly surprising that none of these Romney surrogates had anything positive to say about our current Campaigner-In-Chief.

Both Ross and Diaz-Balart emphasized that Obama cannot run for reelecton on his record. Ross also cited that while Obama and his minions are going around saying that the economy is improving and jobs are being created, the reality is that neither claims are true. Florida’s unemployment rate is still at 9.4%
Diaz-Balart observed that Obama is “trying to take credit for something he pushed away,” referring the Bush-era outreach to Latin America, and especially the Obama’s intentionally stalled Colombian free trade agreement.  Diaz-Balart noted that he helped found the Congressional Colombian Caucus several years back but former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi refused to acknowledge it as  Obama blocked the Free Trade Agreement with Colombia.Diaz-Balart believes that the hesitation on the part of the President has led to a loss in export sales and jobs.

Diaz-Balart also added that President Obama’s ‘gimmick ridden” presidency was a “failed presidency,” and questioned why the President also hasn’t done anything to address China’s ongoing currency manipulation.
Weatherford was one of the Florida’s first elected officials to endorse Romney, and he dropped the best zinger of the conference call when he unequivocally stated that “the Obama experiment has failed.”
