The word is out from the “Democrat Grapevine” that Boca Raton entrepreneur and media tycoon Marc Bell is considering a run for Congress in the newly drawn 22nd Congressional District.
Bell is the CEO of FriendFinder Inc. and the owner of the Penthouse Magazine empire. Bell also has other business interests, including the co-ownership of a hedge fund and a real estate investment trust.
As to his political philosophy, Bell told he Palm Beach Post that “The way I look at the world, like most Americans I’m middle-of-the-road,” which means he’d be a pretty reliable liberal Democrat vote with some with some occasional conservative-sounding rhetoric and token “bipartisan” votes sprinkled in.

Bell is a longtime supporter of Robert Wexler, and during the 2010 election cycle Bell held fundraising events for then Governor Charlie Crist during his failed quest for the U.S. Senate.
Some may blush at the prospects of a bigtime adult entertainment publisher serving in Congress, but with so many in Congress already doing their best call girl-impressions as they sell out our freedoms every day, perhaps Bell would actually be an improvement- for Democrats, that is.
