“Paying it forward” is an expression in DC Circles that describes what is expected of fledgling politicos in Congress once they assume office- essentially it means that politcos should extend the same courtesy and support to other up-and-coming candidates that was extended to them. But while Republican Senators Mike Lee and Rand Paul have taken the lead in supporting candidates in key races across the country, Senator Marco Rubio is taking a more cautious and invisible approach to these national races.Rubio has stated that he would not endorse ‘any’ candidate in a contested primary race, a move that many grassroots activists see as hypocritical since it was Rubio during his fledgling 2010 Senate campaign who sought out endorsements from anyone that could and would help his campaign.
