South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint sat down with the Shark Tank at CPAC to talk about a slew of issues including the contentious Florida Republican Senate Primary race and the possiblility of Marco Rubio being tapped as the Republican Presidential VP pick.
Senator DeMint says that now that Adam Hasner is out of the Senate Race, he would continue to look at the remaining candidates but would stay out of the primary process at least for the time being. DeMint stated that he would rather see Rubio run for President as opposed to being a VP pick, insisting that it “wouldn’t really be a good job for someone like Rubio.”
DeMint also added that he felt Rubio would excite the base as the VP pick and also that if Allen West were to have run for the U.S. Senate he would have been the frontrunner because of his “dynamic and bold” demeanor. He also said that an Allen West Senate run “would have changed things.”
