The wait is finally over. Nick Loeb has flirted with the idea of running for U.S. Senate for some time now-as far back as February of this year- is officially out of the running. Read more on a past Shark Tank interview with Loeb here: Nick Loeb
So in typical Roger ‘Prince of Darkness’ Stone fashion, Loeb held his press conference at the swanky Sagamore hotel on Miami Beach with his long-time Colombian actress girlfriend Sofia Vergara by his side for his announcement. Loeb says that he will keep the door open for a possible future stab at politics, but reiterated to me that he need to convalesce more before he would consider running for office.
Several months back, Nick and I spoked candidly about his possible Senate bid, and he told me that Sofia would back his play were he to run for office. He also stated that like most Colombians, including myself, Sofia is a conservative. Could there be a future in American politics for Sofia Vergara? We shall see…

BTW, Sofia probably did not remember me from our little meeting at the International airport in Mexico City back in 1995. As I recall the encounter, Sofia approached your handsome well-honed reporter at the souvenir stand in the terminal and struck up a conversation.  She was very pleasant, even after the check-in agents screwed up her seating arraingment and made her sit with all of us common folk in coach. Let me just add that I had a better seat in the exit row and Sofia had to sit in middle seat two rows back 😛
