Congressional candidate Karen Harrington, who is running for the Congressional seat currently occupied by Congresswoman and Democrat National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has picked up the the support of Senator Marco Rubio’s Florida campaign finance team. At the recent Conservative Republican Forum luncheon in Jacksonville, Florida, Rubio’s finance team, which consists of Nancy McGowan, Jay Demetree of Demetree Brothers Inc., Mac McGehee of Mac Papers Inc., attended the event to listen to one of the forum’s key note speakers, Karen Harrington.
After hearing her speak, McGowan, Demetree and McGehee met with Harrington at Mac Papers, Inc. headquarters and pledged to help her raise the necessary dollars needed to defeat Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz. Needless to say, this is another huge feather in Harrington’s hat, as she has already brought on Rubio’s Florida Field Director, Anthony Bustamante to manage her campaign.
“Karen is a Florida businesswoman whose family has been in the restaurant business for over 30 years. She is intelligent, well versed on economic policy and a wide range of issues. She is articulate, tenacious, and solidly pro-life. I believe Karen represents the best opportunity for Republicans to hand liberal Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz a pink slip in ’12 and end her political career. This Congressional seat will become an exciting national race. In addition to the support of Senator Rubio’s finance team, Florida Federation of Republican Women (FFRW) President, Cindy Graves has also thrown her support for Harrington, and held a fundraising event on the same day that McGowan & company offered their support. Graves believes that Harrington is the best representation the Republican party has to take on Wasserman Schultz, and was also taken back by how well Harrington articulated her message
