Florida’s State House District 97 seat is up for grabs in 2012 after Democrat legislator Marty Kiar announced that he would not be runnng for reelection and will running for State Senate in District 34 (correction!). That the Republican Party of Broward County was unable to recruit a single candidate last election cycle to challenge Kiar in a District that is not dominated by Democrats in voter registration- a clearly winnable district- was yet another sign of failure for the Broward GOP.
Enter one Merick Lewin of Davie, Florida. An engaging and youthful businessman, Lewin has announced his candidacy for the open seat and is already positioning himself as the probable frontrunner on the Republican side of the ballot. Lewin’s charisma and his small business background is likely to sway votes in his direction considering the current current sluggish economy and the pro-jobs economic narrative that is indispensable amongst current Republican candidates.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
